Who can register?
Members of the independent performing arts community working professionally who are officially registered in Berlin can register.
How can I register?

What work do I register with?
We highly recommend presenting tourable work. If you do not have a tourable production, you are not automatically excluded from participating. In this case, please tell us why you would like to participate in Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp.
Can I register for Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp and still participate in the other formats of the festival (Open Submissions, Newcomer’s Platform)?
It is possible to register/apply for all three formats. The participation in Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp can be combined with your participation in the Newcomer’s Platform or in the open submissions. It is, however, not possible to participate in all three formats.
When will I know if I can take part in Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp?
A response regarding participation will be sent by mid-March 2017, at the latest.
How can I present myself?
During Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp, the participating artists and members of the community present themselves both by means of a 6-minute presentation as well as in an open table format. Each participant will receive 6-minutes of stage time to present themselves and their work. It is left completely up to the participants to decide how to best use this time. Possibilities include lectures, Pecha Kucha presentations, short excerpts from productions or similar options.
Each participant will also be provided with a table as well as a power connection where they can present their work using marketing materials, videos, props, et cetera.
Please note that no additional technical or other devices can be provided for the presentation beyond the basic equipment provided.
What does Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp have to offer?
Berlin Diagonale - Show Camp offers members of Berlin‘s independent performing arts community the opportunity to present themselves and their tourable work to an audience of industry professionals during the festival. In addition, the format also sees itself as a platform for networking and exchanging with other artists, performance venues, dramaturgs and industry professionals. The goal of Berlin Diagonale – Show Camp to increase awareness of work produced in Berlin, create opportunities for touring work as well as to further develop the networking of the members of Berlin’s independent performing arts community.
Which expenses are covered?
We cannot cover any expenses beyond the offer of the presentation itself, the coordination of the registration and the promotion of the event.
Who organizes the festival?
The Berlin Performing Arts Festival is an event shared between all independent performance venues, groups and artists working in Berlin, the independent performing arts community. The community is responsible for the festival artistically and organizationally.
The festival is presented by LAFT Berlin in cooperation with the performance venues HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Sophiensaele, Ballhaus Ost and Theaterdiscounter. The festival coordination team works for LAFT Berlin. It will centrally promote the festival and the participating productions, both in Berlin as well as internationally, and provide comprehensive support to the independent performing arts community for the realization of the festival.
