Mira Fuchs is an expert. An expert private dancer. She is the public face of artist Melanie Jame Wolf's private life working for 8 years in one of Melbourne's largest strip clubs. Drawing on the specific vocabularies of this extended bodily practice, Mira Fuchs seeks to question ideas around gender, sexuality, performative intimacy, and dance & performance as labour. The work proposes itself as a fragmented memoir of the body as a political riddle.

Melanie Jame Wolf makes work under the name Savage Amusement, sometimes solo, sometimes with friends. This work is always performance based, often invites participation, and increasingly incorporates video and the screen as performance objects or spaces. Melanie Jame makes work about love, gender, economies, and ghosts of many forms. She has presented work in various contexts including: Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art; NGBK; Münchner Kammerspiele; HAU - Hebbel Am Ufer; Sophiensæle; Hitparaden Festival of Performance Art & New Theatre; & FOLA – Festival of Live Art

The Sophiensæle is one of the most important locations for German-speaking independent art-production. Artists from Berlin, as well as the national and international theatre-scene are invited to produce and present their works here. They are selected on the basis of their artis-tic concepts, contents, and working schemes. The theatre is home to cultural discourse and a vast mix of artistic genres – from theatre, dance and music, to performance and visual art - which complement each other and enjoy a productive dialogue. Alongside many young artists searching for new theatrical languages and forms of expression, a number of established artists and companies have longstanding partnerships with the Sophiensæle.
