Völuspá - Location Analysis (virtuellestheater|berlin)

In the execution of its regular reviews of the present time virtuellestheater discovered that there are growing indications of the dawn of an utterly new era.
But what kind of a future awaits? Tendencies go towards very different directions. For this reason the performative testing machine “Völuspá” investigates annually whether mankind is ready for a future that we - virtuellestheater - would consider to be a good one.
The testing machine’s branch “Völuspá - Location Analysis” assesses the potential of specific sites to become a nucleus of a better world. It collects people’s behavior as well as their reactions and statements at a specific site regarding the nine substantial questions of creation. Ultimately “Völuspá - Location Analysis” compiles a report on the question: Can a better future arise at this location?

In this process we create new spaces of possibilities and thought; virtual spaces as we see them. Part of our artistic research are non-linear forms of narration, digital media and new tech. Das Ballhaus Ost ist eine Spielstätte für freies Theater, Performance und Tanz. Beheimatet in der 1907 erbauten ehemaligen Feier- und Versammlungshalle der Freireligiösen Gemeinde zu Berlin, versteht sich das Haus in der Pappelallee 15 im Prenzlauer Berg als Kooperationshaus für Gruppen und Künstler aus sämtlichen Sparten der darstellenden Kunst. Als Experimentierbühne für unterschiedlichste Formen zeitgenössischen Theaters lädt das Ballhaus Ost dazu ein, neue Wege der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit heutiger Lebenswirklichkeit zu erleben und zu entdecken. Dabei finden Zusammenarbeiten sowohl mit etablierten Gruppen und Künstlern als auch mit bislang weniger bekannten Akteuren der freien Szene statt.
Gegründet 2006 von Uwe Moritz Eichler, Philipp Reuter und Anne Tismer, wird das Haus seit 2011von Daniel Schrader und Tina Pfurr geleitet.
