Truckers and Trackers (Alien unmade) (Frauke Havemann / ON AIR)

Based on a script by Mark Johnson from sources such as Bill Lancaster’s “The Thing” and Dan O’Bannon’s script for “Alien,” Frauke Havemann / ON AIR creates an absurdist meld of genres
that moves between performance, film, and radio play. “Something” has entered human territory, something with the capacity to penetrate, imitate and transform the body. The reaction is to isolate, quarantine, and eradicate it... But who is the carrier???
10 years after the premiere, performer Neal Wach plays against video characters he created in 2006.

In Frauke Havemann / ON AIR’s work the aesthetics of cinematic and theatrical genres intersect.
In 2002 she joined forces with video artist Eric Schefter and performer Neal Wach to explore the juncture between live performance and video. ON AIR’s work often deals with situations where things get out of balance and accustomed strategies are no longer effective. Big themes and epic tales are conveyed with playful minimalism and humor. Mistakes and accidents, whether technical or human, are integrated into the performance.
Since 2010 an open team of performers, writers, theater and film makers has collaborated with ON AIR’s founding members on various productions.

Milchhof e.V. is a studio collective, originally founded in 1991 in a former dairy on Anklamer Straße, Berlin-Mitte. In 2004, it moved to its present address, a school on Schwedter Straße, where it now serves as a studio space for more than 40 artists across all disciplines, including fine arts, photography, video, performance, dance, music and journalism. An outdoor pavilion was built in 2009 offering exhibitions, performances, and discussion events throughout the year. The AULA at Milchhof is the primary performance venue for Frauke Havemann / ON AIR, which also hosts work by artists associated with a wide array of genres. Designed for both production and presentation, the AULA provides an ideal creative space for independent artists exploring the overlapping disciplines of dance, theater, performance, film and the visual arts.
