Sonic Body (Henrik Kaalund, Kostia Rapoport)

Sonic Body is a performance concept that has been applied to varying groups of participants, settings and locations in recent years. In a relatively short work-period, choreographic miniatures are developed through tasks and rule-sets for a structured improvisation are created. There is a strong focus on the communication among the participants; a language through movement and sound is developed. The improvisation structure consists of several elements: there are acoustic signals, which each lead to a certain movement; there are rule-sets, within which the participants imitate or conduct each other; rhythmic structures and other score-like concepts.

Henrik Kaalund ist freier Choreograph und Tänzer und seit 2001 freiberuflich. Er hat mit vielen Choreographen und Tänzern weltweit gearbeitet und sogar verschiedene Preise gewonnen. Zudem unterrichtet er Zeitgenössischen Tanz.

» Kostia Rapoport

Kostia Rapoport, 1984 in Russland geboren, lebt seit 1990 in Deutschland. Klavierunterricht in Klassik und Jazz, später diverse Band- und Studiotätigkeiten. 2003-2009 Studium der Komposition zeitgenössischer Musik an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. Studienaufenthalte am Central Conservatory of Music in Peking und an der CNSM Paris. Er komponiert digital beeinflusste Musik, arbeitet an Remixen, Film- und Bühnenmusiken, Installationen, Hörspielen, spielt Keyboards und Laptop-Elektronik solo und in Bands und Improvisationsprojekten, lebt in Berlin.

» K77 Studio

K77 Studio is one of Berlin’s small, alternative spaces with an illustrious history. The studio was built by an international group of young performing artists, who squatted the abandoned building after the fall of the wall. Since it’s beginning, the studio has been home to a wild variety of experimental, dance, and improvisational performance forms.
Today the studio is run by a non-profit collective and continues to host performance evenings, organized by members of the studio and artists-in-residence. Each month the studio runs its Variety Café Berlin, which features short pieces and works-in-progress from international performing artists working in dance, theater, music, and/or everything in between. The theater improv company, Scratch Theater, also hosts a monthly show in the studio.
