Intime Fremde (Welcome Project)

Intime Fremde is a research project about borders, identities, state and the encounter of different anatomies. Europeans are used to travel low cost and to feel at home in any country of the union. Human beings are the same from the biological point of view, but as persons we are of different cultures and have different rights. How does the identity of an individual get shaped? Which is the role played by Nationality in public and private life? How are idenitity, human rights and freedom of movement connected? The audience is put in the position of the foreigner. Performers and audience will share an identity which exists only in relationship to the other.

Welcome Project - the foreigner’s theatre was founded by Chiara Rossini in 2015. It is a research laboratory focusing on the roles of identity and anatomy, the possible connection of different anatomies or the avoiding of any contact within common spaces and times. Intime Fremde is the first production of the group and it was creating through the collaboration of actresses from Italy, Kurdistan and Lebanon. The experience as migrants outlines an idea of theatre as another world ruled by different precepts where exceptional events can happen. We all are strangers looking for intimacy. We all look for points of contact to overcome stereotypes. We use our lives as magnifying glasses to give concepts and ideas a body.

Das TATWERK | PERFORMATIVE FORSCHUNG is a production place and studio for the performing arts. The research and work focus on physical theatre, dance, performance and interdisciplinarity. We consider ourselves as a meeting point for those artists who chose the body as the object and the research as the tool for their work. Our task ist o offer practices, ideas and productions a creative exchange platform. We concentrate on interdisciplinary, politic and poetic projects in the field of the performing arts.
