A European-Japanese PR team of an innovative start-up invites you to the first suicide hotel à la Foucault in Europe. Enthusiastic people joyfully propagate the idea of a relaxed, stress-free opportunity in a pleasant, anonymous atmosphere to think about their own death. The science fiction comedy is based on philosophical texts and The Complete Manual of Suicide.

» Ren Saibara

Ren Saibara is a Japanese director and performer. She studied German studies in Tokyo and historical urban studies in Berlin. She founded the artist collective actnetwork. She has presented her works at several international theater festivals in Japan. In her works, she compares the Japanese perspective with the European, often calling the comprehensive global mechanism in current social problems into question. At the same time, she confronts the insurmountable strangeness between German and Japanese culture.

Vierte Welt was founded in 2010 in Zentrum Kreuzberg upon the initiative of Lubricat. Vierte Welt is a space in which artists, specialists, activists and the audience can meet at eye level to reach understandings and achieve exchanges. Vierte Welt has developed into being an open space of possibility within which we assert, in opposition to the short-term exploitation pressure of the market, a situation of permanence and continuity in the artistic work. Far from the focus on a singular aesthetic event (project) and from being confined to one community, we work to change the perspective of the practice of artistic production and presentation in which we seek to think aesthetic and artistic/political positions anew.
