Stranger Than Fiction (Stefan Klein)
Where is the tipping point between reality and fiction, between existing performative situations and a choreographic artistic intervention? The performative situations are so close to existing ones that it is hard to tell where the artwork begins, what is simply a pre-existing real condition or whether anything artistic is happening at all.
Im öffentlichen Raum - Bushaltestelle am Leopoldplatz und Umgebung, Leopoldplatz Berlin, Wedding, 13353 Berlin
Concept: Stefan Klein
Klein’s work deals primarily with complex systems that are transferred in (performative) conceptual ways - in a subtle yet interactive form. Deduction as a method ranges from installations to interventions. He is interested in small gestures and printed publications as a conceptual work, reflecting on performances as an action of a documented performative act.
"Stranger Than Fiction" is a performance in public space and takes place at the bus stop at Leopoldplatz and the surrounding area. Leopoldplatz, or Leo for short, is an oblong square about 4.5 hectares large in the locality of Wedding within the district of Mitte in Berlin which has borne the name of Leopold I since 1891.
