Online Performance (Max Grau)
Max Grau entwickelt seine Performances, Videos und Installationen auf der Basis von Textarbeit - normalerweise im Atelier, am Schreibtisch, hinter geschlossenen Türen. In der Online-Performance wird diese Schreib-Session live gestreamed, ein Key-Logger zeichnet jeden Tastatur-Anschlag mit. Jedes gelöschte Wort, jede Google-Suche, jedes eingegebene Passwort, jede Unsicherheit wird verzeichnet. Untersucht wird dabei das sich wandelnde Verhältnis von privat und öffentlich in Zeiten der Digitalisierung.

Max Grau (*1988) is a visual artist and writer based in Berlin. He studied Fine Arts in Saarbrücken, Berlin and Los Angeles and uses a variety of media such as video, text, email, performance, photography, sound and printed matter. Besides doing things individually he’s interested in friendship-based models of collaboration and forms a part-time duo with Jan Erbelding. Since 2016 he has been involved in *foundationClass – an educational project located at Kunsthochschule Weißensee that tries to support artists who had to flee their home countries in the process of gaining access to the German art school system. His work has been shown internationally, for example at Galerie La Croix Los Angeles, Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, Galerie Lily Robert Paris, Pet Projects Perth and Digital Art Centre Taipei. His first book ›You See I’ve Always Wanted Things To Be Beautiful‹ was published in 2018 by Ruine München/Hamman van Mier Verlag.
PANKE culture is a creative multi-purpose space in Wedding. It is run by a collective of creative people. Its main aim is to promote experimental/fringe creativity in Berlin, as well as to offer an alternative meeting point for the up-and-coming creative scene of Wedding. The Café, PANKE’s meeting Hub serves vegan/vegetarian food and coffee during the day and hosts different events in the evening in a friendly, warm environment. Additionally there are more than 150m2 space for exhibitions, Kino, Workshops, talks, theatre, art or music events and a garden to relax in summer alongside the river Panke.
