Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Passaggio Oper)
Three of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s short stories are woven into one story of disconcerting events. Hoffmann becomes the main character in his own supernatural and sinister stories of failed love. We dive deeper into the dark reality of his world using the unsettling situations and his strange characters to examine the human character and reveal how life experiences can play a role in creating great art.

Passaggio Oper (formerly The Berlin Opera Group) is an emerging opera company dedicated to bridging the gap and breaking the distance between the audience and the performers by making opera relatable, current and real. Our artists consist of extremely talented emerging young professionals who are on the path to a professional career and who have come together with a shared love for beautiful music in order to bring that music to life on stage to modern and diverse audiences. Our idea was forged in Schöneberg in Berlin at the start of 2016 with the goal of combining quality, passion and sincerity to create an authentic opera experience while making opera accessible to everyone.
The theater features an equally pastoral and elegant design and is equipped with state-of-the-art stage technology. It guarantees a perfect view of the stage from all 223 seats and has excellent acoustics. The auditorium is barrier-free and has places for wheelchair users. The theater is a cozy and comfortable jewel and is certainly not only suitable for evenings at the theater!
