Hotel Europa (Agentur für Anerkennung)
Hotel Europa lies in ruins... pieces of the hotel can be seen. Three women reenact the decline of Hotel Europa, adapting the novel Hotel Savoy by Joseph Roth. Questions about origin, about longed-for places are rendered into objects and become parts of the hotel. The stage setting changes from show to show, illustrating different notions and goals of people's lives.

AGENTUR FÜR ANERKENNUNG is a performance company as well as a platform for social recognition. Next to literary and theoretical texts we particularly focus on personal experiences of the participating artists. We condense their stories to dramatic scenes, and by adding comments, songs and various stage actions we develop an adequate form for each of our topics. Through this personal approach we invite our audience to participate in our research into new forms of society.
The theater is a production and performance location for theater projects produced within the independent performing arts community and thus does not have a permanent ensemble. The support of the next generation of directors as the constituting moment of work has been received by the public, both in the world of professionals as well as by “normal” theatergoers, with a great deal of resonance and esteem. Numerous prizes and invitiations to festivals attest to the continuous, high-quality work.
