Franziska Rattay was born in 1991 in Halle an der Saale. She completed her studies in contemporary puppet theater at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art Berlin from 2011 to 2015. She was hired at Schauspiel Köln and Bühnen Halle while still a student.
The Berliner Ringtheater is part of the culture center Zukunft am Ostkreuz. The theater was founded in 2017 by Lars Werner and given over to a collective administration shortly afterward. The schedule of programming is focused on new drama and primarily supports emerging theater makers, as well as hosting political discussions and screenings.
