Max Howitz did his diploma in contemporary puppetry at the Academy of Dramatic Art "Ernst Busch" Berlin. In his work he is focused on site specific theater, trying to find out all the advantages and possibilities which don't fit in a theater building.
Thereto he did plenty of experiments, inviting strangers in his private apartment, which has led to the play "ALL DAY - Homeplay" at the same location. He followed an invitation to the SARUS Festival for site specific art in North Carolina, USA to develop a new performance in a cottage, which shows the every day life of a German, based on interviews with americans. There he gave as well a lecture and a workshop about site specific theater.
Über den Veranstaltungsort:
The performance takes place in a private apartment, which allows an extraordinary experience unlike a normal theater building. Guests are moving freely through the rooms and choose their angle all the time. The natural environment melts the distinction between fiction and reality, private and public.
